We’re Finally Home

I owe you all a bit of an apology — and a long-overdue update.

The last few weeks have been a blur of moving boxes, long workdays, and the never-ending rhythm of horse chores. Somewhere between finishing the house, keeping daily life running, and making sure everyone (human and four-legged) was fed and cared for, updates fell behind.

The big news: Our new home is finished, and we’ve officially moved in.

We received the keys from the builder on August 27th, (yes im that late) and from that moment on it’s been a whirlwind of final touches, hauling boxes, and turning a brand-new house into a lived-in home.

Finally got our keys!

It still feels a little surreal to say that. After months of planning, building, waiting, and problem-solving, we’re finally here, waking up under this roof, drinking coffee in our own space, and slowly settling into what will truly become home.

One of the absolute highlights of moving in when we did was getting to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s here. Being able to cook for family in our own kitchen, a kitchen I absolutely love, made those holidays even more special. There’s something deeply meaningful about feeding the people you love in a space you worked so hard to build, and those moments alone made every long day worth it.

A Small House Tour

Below is a a few photos the house to share where we’re at right now.
There’s still a lot to do. Some rooms are half-finished, some projects are still on the list, and a few boxes stubbornly refuse to unpack themselves. But the bones are here, the vision is taking shape, and every day it feels a little more lived-in and a little more ours.

This move has been equal parts exhausting and grounding. Between work responsibilities, land and animal care, and learning the flow of a new space, progress sometimes feels slow, but it is happening. One project at a time. One room at a time. One breath at a time.

We’re incredibly grateful to finally be here, surrounded by quiet, space, and the beginnings of what we’ve been building toward for a long time. Thank you for sharing in this chapter with us. More updates of the barn (and more photos) are coming now that life is settling into a new rhythm.
